Respect in the Workplace - an innovative & participatory live-scenario training session
Presented By: Geoffrey Scheer (and several HR Martin Board & Chair Members!)
Description of the Presentation:
Geoffrey Scheer, Managing Director of the training firm Access Communications, will provide a "Respect in the Workplace" training program in sexual harassment awareness and diversity. Geoffrey & several HR Martin Board and Chair members will perform brief scenes with him depicting situations of discrimination and harassment. The audience will then be invited to suggest ways the various situations can best be handled, then alternative behaviors will be demonstrated and evaluated. Each scenario is followed by guided audience discussion to underscore the lessons learned and offer insight into alternative methods of employee training. The program is presented with drama, humor and good taste to keep the audience engaged and focused throughout the presentation.
Key learning objectives or key “take-aways” for the Presentation:
(a) importance of diversity and harassment awareness training; it's the "right" thing to do (moral and ethical reasons) and it's the "smart" thing to do (legal and financial considerations), (b) alternative, "outside the box" training methods and (c) significance of empathy in training.
This program will be submitted for 1 (general) recertification credit hour toward SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification. For more information about certification or recertification, please visit the SHRM.org or www.hrci.org
Jason Heaney will be on site to give us a brief presentation on how Liberty Mutual can assist with your employee benefits plan.
